PROVERBS

Proverbs are short sentences that state something commonly experienced or give advice. Read these proverbs and their explanation:

  • A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush: having something certain is better than taking risk for more because you can lose everything.
  • Actions speak louder than words: it is better to do something than to talk about it.
  • Don't count you chickens before they hatch: don't rely on it until you are sure of it.
  • Never bite the hand that feeds you: don't hurt the hand that feeds you.
  • People in  glass houses shouldn't throw stones: you shouldn't criticize people having the same fault as you.
  • You can't judge a book by its cover: decisions shouldn't be made on appearance.
